Heart to Home: Fully Trained Service Dogs

Heart to Home is an all-inclusive journey for individuals who need a fully trained service dog but may not have the time or ability to complete the training themselves.

From the moment a puppy is carefully selected, our expert trainers raise, guide, and prepare them through every stage of development. By the time your dog comes home, they are ready to support your independence, confidence, and daily needs, and you have the peace of mind of knowing your dog has been lovingly and professionally prepared for this role.

The Heart to Home Journey

Launched in 2022, Heart to Home was created to support individuals and families who need a reliable, well-prepared service dog but may not be able to take on the training themselves.

  • Puppies are temperament tested at 7–8 weeks.

  • Dogs are re-tested at multiple stages to confirm service suitability.

  • Only the best candidates progress into advanced training.

  • Every dog is carefully matched to a handler’s lifestyle, needs, and goals

Our Areas of Specialization

At Woofability, we understand that every individual’s needs are unique. That’s why our Heart to Home journey focuses on training service dogs for the conditions we know best:

  • Autism Service Dogs – Building confidence, providing safety, and supporting independence.

  • Medical Alert Dogs – Detecting seizures, heart rate changes, allergens, or other medical events.

  • PTSD Service Dogs – Offering grounding, nightmare interruption, and emotional regulation support.

  • Invisible Condition Support Dogs – For anxiety, chronic illness, and other conditions not always seen.

  • Mobility Assistance Dogs – Helping with balance, retrievals, and daily physical support.

Every Heart to Home dog is matched and task-trained for the specific needs of their future handler.

I’m so grateful to April, Tim and everyone at Woofability Service Dog Training (April, Carolyn & Paige are wonderful trainers!). I have been waiting for a program like their ‘Heart to Home’ program most of my life, and it has had the best & biggest positive impact on me and my family! There is excellent training and support offered, both one on one and in groups, and everyone is super with answering questions. Basil! He’s my (English), Labrador Retriever boy and we love to learn together and be there for each other. I met him through Woofability Service Dog Training when he was 9 weeks old in 2023 and we fell in love instantly!

There is such a good balance the way the meet ups with your pup are carried out as you get to know one another. I love how the dog’s care and well being comes first, and how they (the dogs), are so happy to eventually live with their person, do their job and continue to hang out and train with their extended Woofability Service Dog Training family! Again, I am beyond thankful to April, Tim, Paige, Carolyn and all the lovely folks at Woofability!

  • Our Fire & Ice litter (2024) has been a wonderful success, with puppies now in advanced training.

  • No puppies are currently available from this litter all placements are full.

  • Our next litter is planned for January 2026.

Heart to Home vs Owner Training
What’s Involved Heart to Home Owner Training
Getting Started We hand-pick your puppy from trusted breeders and test for temperament and health from the very beginning. You choose and raise your own puppy, with trainer guidance available.
Early Puppy Stages We do the hard work: potty training, crate training, teething, adolesence phase are all managed by our team. You handle house training, chewing, crate training, and adolescence yourself with guidance.
Bonding You get to meet your future dog yearly during their training journey to build a bond before placement. You bond daily with your puppy from the beginning as you train together.
Public Access Training Your dog is fully prepared for busy real-life places (stores, buses, restaurants) before coming home. You and your dog work on public access gradually, with trainer coaching.
Task Training Service tasks are trained in advance for your specific disability needs. You and your dog learn tasks together step by step, with trainer support.
Time Commitment Lower – trainers do the daily training for you until handover. Higher – you commit to daily practice, consistency, and homework.
Handler Transition We guide you through a smooth handover and provide ongoing support once your dog comes home. You transition gradually with your own dog as they learn over time.
Included Care Food, vet care, insurance, and all training expenses are included in the program. You cover all vet, food, insurance, and other care costs on top of training fees.
Investment $35,000–$40,000 (all-inclusive, from puppyhood to placement) $5,000–$15,000 (training fees only; all other costs separate)
