Your Service Dog Journey Starts Here
Being a part of Woofability Service Dog Training has been a life changing experience for me. From day one, April and Tim have been there every step of the way. As an owner trained team, working with such a professional and highly educated group of trainers has helped me understand my role in training for my service dog. Our 1:1 training sessions and group service dog classes taught me everything I needed to know for my dog and I to successfully pass our BC Guide & Service Dog Certification.
The sessions and classes are catered to the needs of the handler and the dog which makes the experience even more personal. April and Tim truly care about the work they do and it shows in every interaction I have with them. They support the entire family through the process of training a service dog and help everyone understand their roles and responsibilities.

OUR PROCESS
SERVICE DOG TRAINING
-
The initial step in your service dog training journey is to schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation. This session, conducted either via phone or video call, provides an opportunity to discuss your specific needs and address any questions regarding the service dog training process. If you feel prepared, you may proceed to step two and skip this step. After we receive your application, we will reach out with any questions, we may have.
-
As certified evaluators under the Working Dog Registry, we provide comprehensive temperament evaluations to assess if a dog is suitable for service work. While many dogs are loving and loyal, not all are suited to the demanding role of a service dog. This assessment is a crucial part of the service dog training process to determine if your dog is a suitable candidate for mobility support, autism assistance, or other invisible condition support.
Behavioural testing using the Behavioural Checklist
Evaluation of confidence, resilience, and social behaviour
Assessments for owner-trained service dog candidates
Screening for potential service dog placements
If you’re not local, we offer online assessments to accommodate clients from various locations. After the assessment, we’ll provide a written report with the recommended next steps for your dog’s training journey.
-
If your dog passes the assessment, the Woofability Service Dog Training team will guide you both through the training process to build a strong working relationship. Our training program is designed to help you and your dog become a fully functioning service dog team, with mobility support, autism assistance, or any specialized tasks needed for everyday life.
Even after completing your service dog training, we offer ongoing support to ensure everything continues smoothly. We also provide specialized training packages and flexible payment plans to suit your individual needs.
